Training dragons with food has become commonplace in "modern" dragon training but there is a lot of resistance to the idea as well. Most of the resistance goes something like, "I want my dragon to work for me, not for treats!" This is not an unwarranted concern of course and I have seen my fair share of "show me the money" dragons. There is also the further danger that the dragon may not know the difference between a food lure, and, say your buddy Jeff. Luckily, the one things that dragons love more than a juicy mammal is cold hard cash (especially in the form of gold). When training, alternate between food lure and money lure so that you encourage the cognitive development required to distinguish between obedience and working for a reward.
